“Braintree District Council considers that the additional cost of undergrounding cables in the Stour Valley is justified and that National Grid should undertake further evidence, with the involvement of relevant stakeholders, to assess the natural beauty and special qualities of the Stour Valley Project Area including cultural heritage.

Alongside the proposed section of undergrounding in the proposed AONB extension area, it is considered likely that extending the undergrounded section to include the wider Stour Valley Project Area will be the most appropriate option.”
